REIUS. has advised Wilmington Trust as trustee on the financial restructuring of the major Berlin construction project “Fürst”. Fürst is a project on Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm, on the site of the former Kudamm-Karree. In 2021, the project was acquired by the Aggregate Group, accompanied by financing totalling over one billion euros. Increased construction costs triggered a discussion about the future of one of the capital’s largest construction projects. As part of the restructuring, a new financing structure was put in place which, among other things, will enable the provision of fresh money to continue construction.
